Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK)

By far the most popular procedure, especially for those with extreme cases of nearsightedness is LASIK. During LASIK, the surgeon first creates a thin corneal flap using a device called a micro-keratome.

The laser is then applied to reshape the underlying cornea, and then the flap is placed back into its original position.

Corneal Flap

This corneal flap acts as a natural bandage, which accelerates the healing process and increases comfort. This also puts to use the extraordinary bonding properties of the human eye and stitches will never have to be used.
